Our story

A local contractor built around doing the job properly

Andrew Hardiman started Hardi Electrical in 2021 after more than a decade working on the tools across South Hampshire. The aim was simple: run a company where the electrician who quotes the job is involved in the job, where the paperwork is handed over without chasing, and where the house is left cleaner than it was found.

Today the business is a team of three working out of Locks Heath. That size is deliberate. It is big enough to take on a full rewire, a multi-unit commercial EV charger installation or a scheduled programme of EICRs, and small enough that nothing gets handed to a subcontractor you have never met.

We work for homeowners, landlords, letting agents and commercial clients in Locks Heath, Warsash, Park Gate, Titchfield, Whiteley, Hedge End, Fareham and Southampton. Being based in the middle of that patch means we know the housing stock: the 1960s and 70s estates with tired rubber-sheathed runs and undersized boards, the newer Whiteley homes with plenty of capacity but very little spare circuit provision, and the coastal properties in Warsash and Hamble where salt air punishes anything fitted outside.

Most of our work comes from people who have used us before or been told about us by someone who has. That is the measure we care about, and it is why the Google rating sits at 5.0.

Mission and standards

Qualified work, written up properly, explained in plain English

Electrical work is one of the few trades where you cannot see most of what you have paid for. Our answer to that is certification, clear test results and a straight explanation of what we found and what we did.

Work to the 18th Edition

Every installation is designed, installed and tested to BS 7671. Where the work is notifiable under Part P, building control is notified directly on completion.

Tested and certificated

You receive the correct paperwork for the job: an electrical installation certificate, a minor works certificate or an EICR, with the test results written down in full.

Priced individually, in writing

We look at the scope before we price, then send a written quote for your property rather than a generic rate.

Labour warranted for 12 months

Our workmanship is warranted for 12 months from completion. If something we have installed is not right, we come back and put it right; fittings and equipment carry the manufacturer's own warranty.

Clean, tidy and respectful

Dust sheets down, cables run neatly, holes made good and the site left clean. We work in people's homes and offices, and we treat them that way.
