Installing a home or workplace charge point means running a dedicated circuit from the consumer unit or distribution board to the charger's mounting point, fitting the unit itself, and testing the whole installation to confirm it's safe and compliant. It's more than mounting a box on a wall: cable routing, earthing arrangements, load assessment and protective devices all need to be right for the property and the charger being fitted.
This work suits anyone who has bought or is about to take delivery of an electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle and wants to charge at home overnight, or businesses wanting to offer charging for staff or customers. It's also relevant when moving into a property without an existing charge point, or replacing an older unit with a more capable one.
